Master Warrant-Officer Claude Michaud, CD.
Master Warrant Officer Claude Michaud joined the Regular Force in January 1973 as an Artilleryman. Following his initial occupational training at CFB St-Jean, he was posted in April 1973 to X Bty, 5e Régirnent d'Artillerie Légère du Canada in Valcartier. In 1974 deployed with the regitnent to the North-West territories for a 2 weeks Bde winter indoc. In June 1975 he went to Cyprus with the 2R22R as part of Q Bty until November 1975.
Upon his retum to Canada, he was sent to Montreal as part of the security force for the COJO during summer Olyrnpic 1976. Following the Montreal Olympic, he was posted in September 1976 to CFE 129 Airfield Air Defence Battery in Germany, promoted Bombadier in 1977 and Master-Bombadier in 1979 remained there until June 1980. |
Upon his retum to Canada, he was posted to the CFRS St-Jean as an instructor. Platoon Cmdr promoted Sergeant in 1981. In November and December 1982, he attended the Drill Course at the All Arms Drill Wing in Pirbright, UK. In St-Jean, he instructed a total of 13 platoons. In 1983, he was posted to V Bie in Valcartier and later in July 1984, he was promoted to Warrant-officer and posted to CTC Gagetown where he undertook his qualification level 6B/7 course at the RCA Schl which brought him a trip to Fort Bliss, TX. After completing this course, he was employed in the Fd Artillery School as an AIG and was involved in the LLAD short list evaluation (20 days) to Zuerich and (2days) to Holland in 1985. In 1986, he was posted to CFB Chatham where he served at the newly formed Air Defence Artillery School until his posting to 119 Air Defence Battery, RCA in July 1987.In June 1988, he was posted again to CFE 4th Air Defence Regiment Headquarters,Germany. In 1989, MWO Michaud was promoted in the Field to his current rank and returned to 129 Air Defence Battery with the 4th Air Defence Regitnent until the unit's closing/repatriation to the Air Defence Artillery School in CFB Chatham in 1992. In 1993 he participated to a 2 weeks evaluation in Northern-Irland and South-West Wales as part of DLM2. On 1 Apr 1994, he was posted to the 119 Air Defence Battery, RCA and appointed as TSM D for four ADATS. Later on 1 1 Sept 1994, he was posted to the Battle Schl/ RHQ RCA Shilo, Manitoba (RCA Home Stn and Bundeswehr trg place) as part of RHQ SM. Posted to RMC on 4 July 1997 as the DSM. |
