LCol Jacques J.C. Michaud, CD.
Born in Montreal in 1951 and raised in Laval, Lieutenant-Colonel Jacques Michaud is admitted at the Royal Military College of Saint-Jean (CMR) in 1970. He graduates with a degree of Bachelor in Administration in 1975. In June 1976, following one year of extensive training on the Tutor at Moose Jaw, Sask, he is awarded his pilot's wings. During the next seven months he completes his operational training on the Kiowa, a light observation and training helicopter (LOH) at Portage La Prairie, Man, and Gagetown, NB. He is then posted to the 430 Tactical Helicopter Squadron (ETAH) in Valcartier, PQ, in 1977.

In 1980, he is transferred as an instructor with 403 Sqn Operational Training Unit in Gagetown. Promoted to major in August 1983, he is posted back to 430 Sqn, the LOH Flight Commander. In 1987, he completes the Command and Staff College course in Toronto.
In 1988, he is posted back to his Alma mater, CMR, where he occupies the position of Staff Officer Career. In the summer of 1990, he is transferred to 10 Tactical Air Group Headquarters as Staff Officer Operations. Upon promotion to Lieutenant-Colonel in May 1991, he is appointed as Senior Staff Officer Operations and Training. In June 1993 he proudly takes command of 430 ETAH. In 1996, he is transferred to the position of Director of Cadets at the Royal Military college of Canada in Kingston.
He is married to Francine Trahan since 1975. They have four children: Catherine (21), second year student at RMC, Marie-Claude (20), Gabrielle (18), and Pierre-Paul (2). |
